The Mac brushes are new, they have been in storage and were my reserve brushes. These are the older ones back when Mac made beautiful brushes in France and Japan, NOT made in China as some newer ones are now. But they were stored together and so there may be rubbing on the numbers and such but they are new. ALL SOLD

Hakuhodo Brushes; if you've read the beauty blogs about Hukuhodo (Sweet Makeup Temptations, for example), you know that the Japanese brushes are all that and more - definitely worth the hype. The Hakuhodo are used, washed and dried upside down to preserve the shape.
